Silver Landings

90’s pop singer, turned singer-songwriter and actress, Mandy Moore, makes a long-overdue return to music with her seventh studio album, Silver Landings.  In songs like “I’d Rather Lose,” “Save a Little for Yourself,” “When I Wasn’t Watching,” and “Forgiveness,” Moore doesn’t shy away from her well-publicized, troubled marriage to ex-husband, alternative rocker, Ryan Adams. This ten-track album also reflects on her life from a 15-year-old teen pop star to the happily married musician she is today, and the life experiences that shaped her.

If you’re looking for a breakout, top ten radio hit, you won’t hear that in Silver Landings, but you will hear a talented artist with a talented voice who is not afraid to use her music to dig deep into her past.  The album’s highlights, “Fifteen,” “Tryin’ My Best Los Angeles,” and “Silver Landings,” provide the best showcase for both her songwriting and vocal talents.  For those of you who may only know Moore from her role as matriarch Rebecca Pearson on This is Us, Silver Landings will serve as an introduction to Mandy Moore, the singer.

As someone who has been a fan since her first album, this is Moore’s best musical effort yet.  While we self-isolate, I highly recommend listening to this wonderful come-back album. – Kristen
